Regarding the Piantedosi Track review in Volume 6, Issue 2 - October 18, 2006:
Matt Hunter - You are the man; I wish I had as much energy as you do. Our pack purchased a Piantedosi track last year and have been thrilled with it. Our previous track was a homemade wooden track whose lanes did not match up, and were not entirely straight. We made the investment in the anodized track because we saw it as an 'investment' and thought it cheap insurance for our track. We ran into some of the same issue that you did. I did realize that we needed a 10 pound weight and we found a cinder block to work just fine. Our biggest issue was not with the starting gate but getting our timer to attach to it. We bought a NewBold Turbo and again moved from the stone age of eye-balling it to actual times. The starting switch just would not mount easily. We finally jerry-rigged it to work, but we will definitely need some more time this year to permanently attach it. All in all though, both of these products get the thumbs up from our pack. Keep up the good work.
Joseph Burns - It is amazing how shiny the BestTrack is after polishing Brasso. The Brasso has a mild protectant in it so it takes a little while to re-oxidize. If you get really crazy you can get special cleaners for aluminum wheels and then use a buffing wheel. The glare will blind you. The anodizing is great but sometimes you have to file the mating surfaces for a perfect fit and there goes your anodizing.
