Instructions for Simple Wedge or Block-shaped Car

Prepare Car and Skin

  1. Remove any dust or debris from the surface of the car.
  2. Determine how much material is needed to wrap the car without overlapping the material on the bottom of the car. Trim off the excess.

Apply Skin

  1. Peel off the backing paper.
  2. Use a soft, wet sponge to press the skin onto the car body. The transfer paper will release when it is thoroughly soaked. Do not use force to remove the transfer paper.
  3. Fold the design under the bottom of the car.
  4. Smooth out wrinkles by dipping your fingers in water and rubbing over the skin.

Finish

  1. If desired, apply a clear finish. Test compatibility with the finish by applying the finish to a small area first (or on a scrap of wood with a piece of body skin applied).

Instructions for Complex Body Shape

Prepare Car and Skin

  1. Remove any dust or debris from the surface of the car.
  2. Trace each side and top of the car onto the skin.
  3. Cut out the traced patterns, leaving at least 1/8" of extra material for overlap.

Apply Skin

  1. Peel off the backing paper.
  2. Use a soft, wet sponge to press the skin onto the car body - first the two sides, then the top. The transfer paper will release when it is thoroughly soaked. Do not use force to remove the transfer paper.
  3. Fold the design under the bottom of the car.
  4. Smooth out wrinkles by dipping your fingers in water and rubbing over the skin.

Finish

  1. Make windshields and windows with the black skin material. Cut out and apply the window material just like the body skin (Caution: The window material is very thin. Handle carefully, and allow the backing material to become thoroughly soaked before attempting to remove the backing material.
  2. If desired, apply a clear finish. Test compatibility with the finish by applying the finish to a small area first (or on a scrap of wood with a piece of body skin applied).

Alternate Use

  1. The body skin material can be used to accent a painted car, similar to decals. The skin material can be applied directly to paint or unfinished wood.
