These BSA Speed Axles are precision-made to replicate the official BSA nail, but without the burrs and crimp marks. You can use these axles as is, or give them a light polishing if desired.

To achieve top speed, your wheels must be accurately and carefully prepared. Using our specialty tools, you can certainly prepare a fine set of wheels. However, here are some great alternative wheels for Cub Scout races. Important - These wheels meet the rules that come in the official Cub Scout Pinewood Derby kit. However, make sure to check your local rules before ordering.

"Which Cub Scout/BSA Speed Wheels are right for you? Well, for top speed, the 4060/61 wheels are the fastest, but they are more radically machined and can raise eyebrows (even if they conform to the rules). A good compromise are the 4070/71 wheels. These are much faster than standard wheels, conform to most rules, and do not look particularly different than stock Cub Scout/BSA wheels. But if you cannot use weight reduced wheels, then select the 4090/91-Speed Wheels or the 4080/81-Pro-Stock Speed Wheels. For a photo comparison of the Cub Scout/BSA speed wheels, Click Here." |
