Extended Rod

Taking its name from the Hot Rod (and of course from the Brass Rod), THE ROD will catch the eye of the spectators as it flies down the track.
In addition to the car kit and basic hand tools, you will need the following supplies to build THE ROD:
- 25/64" and 7/16" Brad Point or Forstner drill bit (hardware store item)
- Access to a drill press
- Shoe Rasp
- Coping Saw
- Pipe cutting tool
- 30 and 5 minute Epoxy
- 12" each of 3/8" and 7/16" wooden dowel rod
- Cotton Balls and Swabs (Drug store)
- 7" of 7/16" Brass Tubing
- Small piece of colored paper (color similar or in contrast to paint job)
- Lead: 4-1/2" of 3/8" lead wire.
- Lead: Small, non-removable split shot fishing weight (Sporting goods store)
- The extended wheel base can be created by either cutting new axle slots with two hacksaw blades, or by drilling axle holes with the Pro-Body Tool. Instructions and templates are provided in the Unique Car Plans booklet.
