The Lightning Bolt is a laser cut car made exclusively for Maximum Velocity by Lester Racing. The lightning bolts go completely through the car body. The car is extremely low-profile (1/4 inch in front, 3/8 inch in back including the top plate), and is aggressively weighted with tungsten to give you a very competitive car for races allowing an extended wheelbase. The weight pocket allows the balance point to be adjusted from 3/4 inch to 1-1/4 inch.

The dark edges of the car are due to the action of the laser. The darkness can be removed with sanding, but this is not necessary as paint or primer will apply directly to the dark areas.

The car chassis is based on an official BSA block, and the car meets BSA specifications for height, width, length, and underbody clearance. The front left axle hole is drilled slightly higher such that the car will run on 3 wheels. The weight pocket (covered with the top plate) exists to hold the tungsten weight needed to bring the car to 5 ounces. The top plate is shipped unassembled so that it can easily be painted a different color (if desired).

The kit includes a car body, top plate, tungsten weight, and instructions. Wheels and axles are not included, so use the wheels and axles supplied by your club or order them separately.
